WORKSHOP: EXTREME DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING with Eva Stotz (DFFB)

RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL [DAY 2]

Tutor: ‘Eva Stotz’ (‘Tempelhof,’ ‘Devil Hides in Doubt,’ ‘Global Home,’One Million Steps’)

Ever wondered how to cope with extreme temperatures, sandstorms, riots and conflict whilst attempting to make your documentary? Ever wanted to go into contexts of political unrest and emotional upheaval and be able to create a documentary that does justice to the events portrayed whilst maintaining filmic integrity?

Over the course of this two hour workshop documentary filmmaker, Eva Stotz, will be discussing the evolution of her documentary ‘One Million Steps’ – where shooting collided with the Turkish uprising.

By explaining how to follow your intuition, cope with personal dilemma’s, find a theme, work with the unexpected whilst filming in a foreign country and documenting a conflict that is not your own, Eva will guide you through the process of how to make great documentaries in extreme conditions.
